Sweetwater was served by the Texas & Pacific (T&P), the Kansas City, Mexico & Orient (KCM&O), and the Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe (GC&SF) railroads. The KCM&O and GC&SF were acquired by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway.
