Garland was served by the Missouri - Kansas - Texas (MKT, "Katy"), and the Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe railroads. In later years, the Kansas City Southern (KCS) acquired the Santa Fe line.

The last Santa Fe depot in Garland was this modest brick building adjacent to the Santa Fe tracks. It is now an office for KCS.
