Motorcars in Service / MoP by Myron Malone

An end of an era cannot be far away as this vintage Fairmont S-2 is still in active service with the Missouri Pacific in April, 1978.  Location is Grand Saline, Texas and the car appears to be in service with a track gang still using former passenger cars and troop sleeper cars in maintenance of way service.  The windshield assembly appears to be field added and was probably not factory delivered on this car.  Number stenciled on the windshield is C-5051.
