Texas Railroad Depots - Lubbock

 

Gavin Carr describes the Lubbock depot photos (below) that he graciously supplied:

The photo of the depot with a red roof and limestone brick feature is the Fort Worth & Denver Railroad Depot. That picture was taken in 2009. The picture of the concrete structured depot in black and white is the first modern Santa Fe Depot that served both the Panhandle and Santa Fe, the Pecos & Northern Texas, and the South Plains & Santa Fe. The picture was taken around the 1920s, and includes men who I sadly have not been able to identify. The third image with the Santa Fe sign on top of the building is the current depot built in the 50s. It replaced the old concrete structure after a fire broke out. The current depot was designed with more modern features and no longer has the Santa Fe sign on top, but it has new additions thanks to BNSF's roots in Lubbock.
